Your companies “character” or public face should be something they can relate to. Think about how your customers see you and how you would like them to see you. Another important part of this is to have a consistent voice across all pages of your site. If your content is light and silly, then you should try to make your privacy policy or company info pages the same. I believe you should also work on this voice over time. If you get it perfect right away, then wow, let’s work together!! If not, use A B testing and customer surveys to determine what you need to change. Then make a change and reassess. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

Character Development is very important. Don’t forget this aspect of your business amongst everything else. Think about how your customers think of you. Then change it for the better.

It seems that the process for printing books has changed in the digital age. Previously, in the print world, after the author was done (or during their writing) the book was edited. This included more than just spelling issues. Take this for instance: ”She realized there was something different about how he looked at her than he did at the other boys”. There’s no spelling issue here, but this may not be what I intended to say. ”She realized there was something different about how he looked at her than he did at the other girls”. Ah. Much better!

While reading a book on my iPad, I came across something very similar to this mistake. I understood what it really should have said, but still, this shattered my escapism. My example is from an epic fantasy novel, but this issue can crop up anywhere. Remember that you should always always ALWAYS get a second set of eyes looking at your work to ensure that you are saying exactly what you want to.

In my opinion, it’s much better to spend a little more up front if it improves your connection with your customers. Don’t rush through anything that may affect your public image.
